Overview
We are currently recruiting a Multi Skilled Engineer for a food manufacturing company based in the Gwent area of South Wales. The company are experiencing a rapid rate of growth so this could be an excellent, challenging opportunity for the right individual. You can expect to achieve a salary of £35k working a mornings & afternoons shift pattern.
The Role
To carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance work and to be reactive to production plant, equipment and buildings, to ensure safety and reliability of the production process.
Duties:
- Continuous development of knowledge and familiarity with the engineering requirements of the manufacturing process systems and machinery
- To work as an active part of a developing cross functional planned maintenance team
- To ensure correct Health & Safety, Food Safety and Hygiene standards are adhered to at all times
- To ensure a fast and effective response especially under breakdown conditions
- To quickly diagnose faults and take corrective action
- To work on various projects including installation and modifications to plant and equipment
- To actively participate in a Continuous Improvement culture throughout the site, constantly identifying opportunities to improve efficiencies and reduce waste.
- To ensure good working practices are adhered to throughout plant
- To ensure the workshop is always audit ready.
- To ensure planned maintenance work is completed to strict schedules, and constantly look for improvements that will ensure reliability of equipment is improved
- To be part of an on-call Rota.
The Person
- Good electrical fault finding
- 18th Edition Certificate
- PLC Programming Capabilities preferred, but not essential
- FMCG Experience
- Good communication skills
- Electrical/Mechanical Engineering qualifications/experience.
- A thorough and detailed approach to maintenance work
- You must be comfortable and confident to work on your own
- You must be both literate and numerate with basic computer skills
- Knowledge of plant maintenance work.
